Today, on October 15th 2024, I received a large envelope delivered by Canada Post from the Landlord and Tenant Board. The envelope contains several pages, one of which indicates a case number for the L2 application that the landlord has filed against me.

Highlights of the information package include the following:

  • The 'Date Submitted' on my file is '2024-09-30'. This implies that the period of time between the landlord filing the application and the date when I received it in the mail was 15 days.

  • The status of the L2 application is 'Hearing Scheduled' with a hearing date of 2025-02-19, which is just over 4 months away.

  • Several documents are attached to the case, which includes a scanned copy of the N13 that the landlord served to me, and a full list of all other tenants in the building who also got an N13 notice. According to the information that was submitted, a total of 61 units (of approximately 108 units in total) in this building have been served with N13s notices as of September 30.

  • One of the documents attached to my file includes a description saying that the hearing will take place over a video call, and provides a link to join the video call when the hearing happens. Alternatively, it also allows you to call in to join the hearing via phone call if you do not have internet.

I will post more information on this topic in the future.
