A tenant provided me with a copy of the letter that they received, urging them to accept a plan to pay more for use of an air conditioner and other appliances. I have redacted the dates, however I will note that the notice only provides the tenant seven days notice between date of the notice and the deadline to comply. Many tenants (including me) have a lease that includes the wording "Hydro: Yes", and historically the hydro was paid for entirely by the building owner. However, when the new owner took over the building, they began pressuring individual tenants to switch to individually metered hydro so that the tenant would pay instead of the building owner. This is despite the fact that many tenants have these 'all inclusive utilities' lease agreements.
